Golf
Golf in the West of Ireland is a very special experience. There are many excellent championship courses in Mayo, Sligo and Galway which are easily reachable from Teach Bán.
We can arrange for our guests to play for what is a very affordable cost at many of these courses, indeed three of the best were playable for Euro70 total.
Ballinrobe Golf Club is a favourite of Padraig Harrington and it is host to many important competitions. The course plays some 7000 yds from the championship tees and is a really testing Par 73. It is a mere 10 minute drive from Teach Bán
Castlebar is a newly laid out golf course, which features USGA standard greens. It is a real pleasure to play and the clubhouse provides excellent cuisine at very reasonable cost. The course extends to around 7,000yds and is a Par 72. It is about 12 miles from Teach Bán
Westport is a past venue to the Smurfit PGA championship 2002. It is a really good Par 73 and is played over 7,000 yds on part park and part links. The course is a delight and particularly scenic as it is directly overlooked by Croagh Patrick and sits snugly into Clew Bay, a haven off the wild Atlantic coast, opposite Westport Quays. The course is 16 miles from Teach Bán.
Enniscrone is one of the hidden gems of Irish golf and is well worth a visit. Its yardage of 6,884 provides some of the most challenging holes in Irish golf and some of the most spectacular scenery of any links course, cut out of enormous sand dunes.
Other courses within easy reach of Teach Bán are Carne in Belmullet, Ballyconneeley in Connemara, Claremorris and Galway Bay.
This area of Ireland has a great golfing tradition and its links courses are the envy of the rest of Ireland.
Book your visit early to take advantage of the great offers available but come anyway and enjoy the hospitality at all our golf clubs which include open days throughout the Summer at a very affordable cost.
We will be happy to make golf and travel arrangements for you if you so wish, just ask!
