Hill Walking and Climbing Climbing
Teach Bán is situated in an area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty "Official".
There are numerous touring, walking opportunities and hill walking clubs locally. Walking clubs are happy to invite along visitors to the area. Indeed with good local mapping and planned walks the adventurous walker can make do him or herself, see local ordnance survey map No.38
We can arrange for excellent local leaders to look after you and they will show walks that are truely breathtaking.
The photos opposite are from a recent hill climb of Maamtrasna. A Truely spectacular climb of about 700 Ft. Also Partry Mountains which we climbed in November 2009.
Mount Gable is nearby and is a good walkr and is highly recommended for novice hill walkers
The whole district is a haven for the Flora and Fauna enthusiast. Bird watchers have access to an area renouned for its wide selection of birds in protected enviornment.
We hold a number of maps, which have been constructed for the serious walker, Stanfords provide detailed walking maps of the area which are available also.
Partry mountains are nearby and offer a real joy to the serious or casual walker, also Croagh Patrick is nearby for those who wish to experience the mountain where it is said that Saint Patrick banished all the snakes from Ireland. Of course there is always the opportunity to have some refreshment along the way.
